Apple Music Replay: Showcasing Your 2024 Streaming Taste
2024-12-03
Apple Music users have been enjoying the Replay feature throughout 2024. Now, Apple has neatly packaged all your streaming stats with its annual recap. This year, you can view the full Replay experience within the Apple Music app through the home, new, and search tabs. It's important to note that you'll need to be on iOS 18.1 or later to access it. In the past, you had to visit a microsite for the Replay details, but that option still remains on the web.

Key Features and Highlights

Playlist Saving

You can save a playlist of your most-played songs in 2024. However, these stats will be finalized in January. It's a great way to keep track of your musical preferences over the year.

Not only that, but you also have the option to access your Replays from previous years. This is a unique feature that Spotify doesn't offer with its Wrapped. It allows you to compare your listening habits over time and see how your music tastes have evolved.

New Replay Features

This year, there are some exciting additions to the Replay. You'll now be able to see if you're among an artist's top 500 or 1,000 listeners, expanding beyond the previous top 100 limit.

You can also check out the longest streak of consecutive days you've streamed from Apple Music. It's a fascinating insight into your listening habits and can help you discover patterns in your music consumption.

Monthly Views

There's the option to view your top song, artist, and album by month. This provides a detailed look at your musical preferences throughout the year and allows you to see how your tastes change from month to month.

You'll also see the first date that you listened to your top artist, song, and album of the year. It's a great way to reminisce about the moments when you first discovered these musical gems.

Artists' Replay

Artists now have access to their own version of Replay for the first time. Via the dashboard, they can see the total number of minutes that subscribers have listened to their music, total listeners, top cities, and most-shazamed song.

It's a valuable tool for artists to understand their audience and gain insights into their music's popularity. It also allows them to connect with their fans on a deeper level.

Overall Listening Stats

The most-listened to song on Apple Music overall this year was Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," a hook-laden diss track that took down Drake. Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" was the most identified song on Shazam.

I, for one, have had 55,265 minutes of Apple Music listening time so far this year. To no one's surprise, Chappell Roan is my top artist, and "Pink Pony Club" is my most-listened-to song. My other top three artists are Charlotte Cardin and Queens of the Stone Age, both of which I highly recommend.
