In the cozy embrace of early February, on the 16th, The City Center located at 505 S. Chestnut St. will come alive with vibrant sounds and enthusiastic crowds. This unique music festival, running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., brings together eleven bands featuring school teachers, staff members, and students. Performances range from Mariachi Tigres de Urbana’s soulful tunes to the energetic rhythms of New Orleans Jazz Machine, Squirrel Movement, Modern Drugs, and The Yung Ones. Beyond the stage, children can enjoy interactive activities and learn about various organizations through information tables hosted by high school service clubs. Pete Shungu will guide the audience as the emcee, with assistance from CUSF board member DeShawn Williams.
