Unraveling the Legal Tangle of Daddy Yankee's Finances

Section 1: The Initial Filing

On Thursday, December 12th, in San Juan, Daddy Yankee took the legal route. He filed an injunction against González, who is 47 years old, along with her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos and El Cartel Records. Daddy Yankee founded the latter, and González is allegedly the CEO while Castellanos is the secretary/treasurer. The filing reveals that despite being the owner of the company's shares and the reason for its existence, he lacks access and information to what he has generated and is entitled to.This situation has led to a power struggle within the organization. The "Dura" musician is now seeking the immediate removal of the plaintiffs from any function or interference in the corporations and the delivery of withheld information and documentation.

Section 2: Alleged Mismanagement

Daddy Yankee alleges that González and Castellanos attempted to exert greater control over Cartel's operations than authorized. This, he claims, has led to a detrimental and negligent performance for the company. They are also accused of failing to provide an accurate account of their actions and disregarding the formalities and requirements of corporate legislation.Furthermore, González is said to have enlisted a third party to represent El Cartel in the sale of some of the plaintiff's music catalog. Daddy Yankee asserts that the agreed-upon amount was unreasonable, disproportionate, and far below the real value. He has no knowledge of the transaction's real scope, what was sold, or the limitations on his use of his musical creations.

Section 3: Personal Life After the Split

On December 2nd, Daddy Yankee confirmed on his Instagram Stories that he and González had ended their marriage, which they tied the knot in March 1995. In a message translated from Spanish, he expressed respect and honesty. After more than two decades of marriage and months of trying to save it, his lawyers responded to the divorce petition. He respects González's decision and appreciates the time they shared. He acknowledges that this is a difficult time but understands it as part of his life process. The former couple has two children together - daughter Jesaaelys, 28, and son Jeremy, 26. Daddy Yankee also has another daughter, Yamilet, from a previous relationship.Reps for González have not yet responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.
