"We were discussing this during our last reunion," Love explains. "I had the honor of serving as a backup singer during her Heart of Stone Tour. Working with her was a true delight. It was amazing to witness where she is now and where she came from. To think that I had a small part in it all is beyond belief. And the fact that she holds me in such high regard continues to amaze me."

Cher's Unwavering Support

The "All Alone On Christmas" singer emphasizes that Cher "gives me my due" more than anyone else. "She appeared on Kelly [Clarkson's] television show a few months ago. And she said, 'If there was no Darlene Love, there would be no Cher.' " This praise leaves Love in awe that the legendary singer "still thinks that much about me." "It's truly humbling," she adds.

I'm coming to California for two weeks. I want to spend Christmas with my children and great-grandkids. Due to my schedule, I don't get to see them during Christmas.' She said, 'Come by. You better not come without visiting. You promised to be here for two weeks, so I expect to see you during that time.' "
