Hill Street Country Club: A Farewell with Marissa DeLuca's Art
Artist Marissa DeLuca's paintings at the Hill Street Country Club in Oceanside are powerful representations of buildings on their way out. One of her paintings, "She's Not There," is of the Oceanside pier on fire, with actual burnt pier in the artwork. Her work is a love letter to Oceanside and holds the memory of the region. The gallery is open until escrow closes on the sale of the building, with hours from 12 to 5 Monday through Saturday.
Marissa's paintings give these overlooked places so much gravity and beauty. It's a unique way to experience art and remember the essence of a place.
