Clayton Echard Reflects on Ex-Susie Evans' Comments and Their Past Relationship
2025-01-23

In a recent episode of The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, former Bachelor contestant Clayton Echard addressed comments made by his ex-girlfriend Susie Evans. During the podcast, host Ben Higgins brought up a cryptic statement Susie made about Clayton during a paternity case last summer. Clayton expressed mixed feelings about her words and reflected on the reasons behind their breakup. He acknowledged her support during the legal battle but also pointed out that he found some of her comments unnecessary and potentially misleading. Ultimately, Clayton chose to move forward, forgiving any past misunderstandings.

Addressing Public Commentary: Clayton's Response to Susie's Words

During the podcast discussion, Clayton was asked to comment on a particular remark made by Susie. Host Ben Higgins read a quote where Susie stated that Clayton "might be a lot of things, but he’s not a liar." This statement intrigued the audience as it came during a significant period in Clayton's life. Clayton responded with laughter, reflecting on the complexity of their relationship and Susie's public statements.

Clayton explained that while he appreciated Susie's support during the paternity suit, he had reservations about how she framed certain comments. He felt that some of her remarks carried more weight than intended and could be misinterpreted. Clayton elaborated, saying, "There were reasons why our relationship didn't work out, and I believe there's no blame to be placed on either side. However, I haven't always agreed with the way she has presented certain things publicly. It sometimes seemed like she was trying to make me seem responsible for the relationship's end."

Moving Forward: Clayton's Perspective on the Past

Despite the complexities, Clayton has chosen to focus on moving forward rather than dwelling on past issues. He expressed a desire to let go of any lingering negativity and emphasized the importance of personal growth. Clayton's approach to handling the situation demonstrates maturity and a willingness to forgive.

Reflecting further, Clayton admitted that he wasn't entirely sure if Susie intended her comments to be perceived in a certain way. He said, "If you're bringing this up as a quote, you have to wonder why it was said that way. You could have just said I'm not a liar. Why did you say I might be many things?" Despite these doubts, Clayton chose not to dwell on them. He stated, "She can respond accordingly to what she meant. I never got an answer from her, but I moved on from it. We’re all human and we all say things we probably shouldn’t have said at times. So, I can forgive her for that if there was a need for it."
