An accomplished media professional with a distinguished career in broadcasting has been appointed to lead Nexstar Media Group's operations in New Mexico. Jeff Miller, who previously managed stations in the Rio Grande Valley and Omaha, now assumes the role of Vice President and General Manager for Nexstar’s flagship stations in Albuquerque. With nearly three decades of experience, Miller is praised for his ability to drive audience growth, foster team collaboration, and innovate content strategies.
In a significant development for Nexstar Media Group, Jeff Miller has taken on the responsibility of overseeing KRQE-13, a dual CBS/FOX affiliate that serves much of New Mexico and parts of Southern Colorado. Additionally, he will manage KWBQ-TV, The CW-owned-and-operated station, and supervise Nexstar’s shared services agreement with Mission Broadcasting's KASY-50. This announcement was made earlier this week via social media channels.
Moving forward from his tenure at the Rio Grande Valley affiliate, Miller brings extensive expertise cultivated over 35 years in the broadcasting industry. Before joining Nexstar almost four years ago, Miller held key leadership roles at Sinclair Broadcast Group affiliates in Omaha and Sioux City, Iowa. His accomplishments include exceeding financial targets, expanding local programming initiatives, and enhancing both digital and linear audiences.
Matthew Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager at Nexstar, expressed confidence in Miller's abilities. He highlighted Miller’s reputation as a respected executive capable of driving journalistic excellence while fostering cohesive teams.
From an observer's perspective, this appointment underscores Nexstar Media Group's commitment to strengthening its presence in New Mexico. By appointing someone with such deep-rooted industry knowledge, they aim not only to maintain but also to elevate their standard of service. For aspiring broadcast professionals, Miller’s journey serves as a testament to how dedication and innovation can propel one through various stages of leadership within the dynamic world of media. It exemplifies the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement in achieving long-term success.
