FUGA, a prominent downtown-owned B2B music distributor, has recently forged a significant partnership. This collaboration brings together FUGA and the independent record label Mind of a Genius. The announcement was made on Friday (November 22), marking an important milestone in the music industry.

Enhancing Global Reach

The partnership aims to enhance Mind of a Genius's global reach through FUGA's comprehensive distribution services, marketing expertise, and strategic support. Los Angeles-based Mind of a Genius, founded in 2013 by dance music producer/DJ David Dann, represents artists across various genres such as electronic, new-soul, and R&B. The label's current roster includes talented artists like Mindchatter, Kwaye, Karnaval Blues, Peter $un, and Jordan Astra.Under the new agreement, FUGA will offer its full suite of services, including digital and physical distribution, sync licensing opportunities, and data analytics. These tools are expected to play a crucial role in helping Mind of a Genius's artists expand their audience reach and engagement across global markets.David Dann, the founder of Mind of a Genius, expressed his excitement about the partnership. Expanding A&R Division

The partnership coincides with the recent expansion of MOAG's A&R division. Andrew Hove has been appointed as the General Manager to lead these efforts. Zach Koche, FUGA's Senior Director of Business Development for the Americas, emphasized the significance of the partnership. Growing Portfolio of Collaborations

This partnership adds to FUGA's expanding portfolio of collaborations in the Americas region. The company has recently secured distribution and marketing partnerships with several other music companies, including Arkade (the label of GRAMMY-nominated producer Kaskade), Artist House (a publishing, label, and management company), and MOVIDA MÚSICA based in Mexico.FUGA, part of Downtown Music Holdings, serves over 1,600 music rights holders globally and delivers "over a quarter of the world's new releases." Its client roster includes renowned independent labels such as Beggars Group, Better Noise Music, Curb, Mom + Pop Music, Epitaph, and Ninja Tune.A month ago, FUGA partnered with ASINTADA, a Manila-based management and production company, marking its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, FUGA has recently struck deals with Record Makers in Paris, One House in the UK, Critical Music (a drum and bass label), and Berry's Room (the imprint of British-Nigerian afrobeats star Maleek Berry).
