The Cast and Their Hopes

Ed Begley Jr., who plays Alana's grandfather Paul, had the best time filming the movie. He is ready to talk to the cast and crew at the premiere and get them involved in a potential sequel. "We had the most fun ever. Let's do it again," he says.Megyn Price, as Alana's mother Leah, is also on board with the idea of a sequel. She quips, "We're pitching the sequel now. We're calling it 'The Extra Point.'" Diedrich Bader, who portrays Leah's husband Hank, adds to the excitement, joking that they "literally just came up with" the idea for the sequel "about 30 seconds ago."The trio even discusses how they can keep the budget in check. Begley offers to do craft service on the sequel, saying, "I work cheap." They all envision themselves as producers on the project and look forward to getting paid for their efforts.

The Chiefs Partnership and Beyond

Samantha DiPippo, senior vice president of development and programming at Hallmark Media, shared during an exclusive set visit to Arrowhead Stadium in July that the Chiefs partnership felt like a "special" opportunity. The two teams were quick to recognize the potential for something amazing, and they dove in to make it happen.Of course, the location of Hallmark in Kansas City and the Chiefs' winning record add to the allure. And let's not forget the Taylor Swift effect, which has only enhanced the popularity of the Chiefs and the movie. As for the future, DiPippo remains optimistic. "We'll have to see... There's a real opportunity here," she says. While a Holiday Touchdown sequel or a second Hallmark/NFL movie is not a certainty, the possibilities are exciting. In addition to the talented cast, the movie also features a cameo from Donna Kelce, mother of tight end Travis Kelce. Travis' coach Andy Reid and teammates Trey Smith and Mecole Hardman Jr. also make appearances, adding to the excitement and authenticity of the story.Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story will re-air on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. ET/PT and again on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. ET/PT, giving viewers another chance to experience the magic of this Chiefs love story.
