Saturday, Nov. 30 marks the start of Fairhaven Winterfest. Santa himself will be present, along with delicious food and ample shopping opportunities. A mailbox at the Village Green will be available until Dec. 14 for children to send their letters to the North Pole. It's the perfect time to decide what you want for Christmas.
After visiting Santa, enjoy a carriage ride from noon to 3 p.m. Listen to classic Christmas songs with Victorian Carolers on the Green from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. And don't miss the tree lighting ceremony from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 10th & Mill. Head to enjoyfairhaven.com for all the details.
Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, and Bellingham has plenty of local shopping options. Start at the cruise terminal where the Shop Small Holiday Makers Market Series begins. It runs from noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1. Fifty local vendors will offer a wide range of crafts, wares, clothing, jewelry and food items.
If you can't make it this weekend, the Holiday Market will also be open on Dec. 21 and 22. Find more information at bellinghamakermarket.com.
In downtown Bellingham, all the boutiques, galleries and shops will have one-of-a-kind gifts. You can also swing by Boundary Bay Brewery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their Holiday Market, which is free and open to all ages.
This week, our featured live show takes us to The Shakedown on Friday, Nov. 29. Hillstomp will bring their rootsy blues-rock stylings to the stage at 9 p.m. They are a two-man band that plays intricate guitar and banjo licks backed by powerful drums, creating a sound that is truly unique.
Opening for Hillstomp is The Preacher & The Freight Train. Go to shakedownbellingham.com for tickets and get ready to enjoy a night of great music.
