Inside the I'm A Celebrity Cast's Fancy Hotel After the Jungle
2024-11-29
The I'm A Celebrity campmates are in for a treat when they leave the camp and head to a seriously posh hotel. It's a world away from the roughing it at the camp, with a private marina and a lagoon filled with tropical fish. Let's take a closer look at this extravagant getaway.

Uncover the Exotic Retreat of I'm A Celebrity's Hotel

The Hotel's Stunning Features

The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is a massive upgrade from the camp. The rooms are incredibly nice, with many offering amazing views of the ocean. Staying in a guest room with a balcony in November will cost you 759 Australian dollars (£390) per night, but it's worth every penny. The hotel also has a standout feature - a massive saltwater swimming pool with waterfalls, a grotto, and more than 200 tropical fish. People can go snorkelling right in the pool and help feed the fish. It won the Australia's Best Hotel Pool award in 2021 and 2024, and it's not hard to see why.

The spa at the hotel is also a highlight. According to the spa's website, there are "experiential retail and treatments that are tailored to your exact needs and focused on delivering four distinctive benefits — Calm, Indulge, Invigorate and Renew." Although the exact meaning might be a mystery, it sounds like it could solve all your problems.

Activities Galore

The I'm A Celebrity campmates' families won't be bored at the hotel. There are jacuzzis, basketball courts, and even something called sea scooters. There's a private marina where you can go jet skiing and kayaking without encountering commoners. The hotel also offers pizza-cooking classes, aqua aerobics, and herb-planting sessions. It's not an exaggeration - the bougie programme of children's activities even includes sushi-making classes for $29 per kid and junior mixology classes for $30 per kid. If Dec gets bored, he's all set!

Location and Distance

The legendary I'm A Celebrity camp, called Dungay Creek, is in Springbook National Park, New South Wales. It takes around an hour to get from the hotel to where I'm A Celeb is filmed. Once the campmates start getting voted off, their families and friends have to be driven from the hotel to the jungle at the crack of dawn in case their person is the one leaving. The hotel is also about an hour's drive away from Byron Bay, where the launch show with all the helicopters was filmed this year.

Where the Celebrities Stay

The celebrities stay in the hotel for a few days before heading into the jungle. The crew takes their phones from them, so they (in theory) can't google who their future campmates are. Jane Moore told MailOnline that she wasn't roughing it at all. She said, "I've got a lovely view of the Gold Coast. I've got a telly with about 900 channels." A few family members and friends also get to stay in the fancy hotel while the celebrities are being voted off, ready for that two-second shot of the celeb hugging their friend on the bridge as they leave. Crew members also stay in the hotel. According to The Mirror, Ant and Dec always stay in the same beachfront penthouses with their wives and kids. The penthouses apparently cost £1,000 per night.
