Jon Gosselin Hopes Estranged Kids Attend His Wedding, Door Open
2024-12-05
Jon Gosselin, once a prominent figure from "Jon and Kate Plus 8," is now holding out hope that his estranged children will be at his wedding. After announcing his engagement to Stephanie Lebo, he expressed his desire for his kids to be a part of this special day. Jon shares twins Mady and Cara and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin. He is currently estranged from most of them except for his son Collin and daughter Hannah.

Jon's Approach to Inviting His Children

Jon explained that he would definitely send an invite to all of his children as they are his kids. He supports the ones integrated into the family and believes the door is always open. He didn't tell his estranged kids about his plans to propose but sought approval from Collin and Hannah. Hannah cried with happiness when she heard the news, and Collin reacted with excitement. Jon said, "I was like, 'Oh yeah, by the way, I'm gonna marry Steph.' He goes, 'Dad, you say it so nonchalantly. Like, that's great. That's awesome.' And he hugged me and stuff like that." It's important to him that they are happy with his decision.

Jon's Proposal and Surroundings

On Saturday, Nov. 23, Jon proposed to Stephanie after three years of dating. The proposal took place at her favorite restaurant, Willoughby's on Park in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, surrounded by their parents. Stephanie's dad was emotional and said, "You don't know how long I waited for this day for you, and there was a time where I thought it was never going to happen for you. I'm so very happy for you and Jon. My best advice is never stop being in love. Love comes first." This shows the significance of the occasion for both families.

Jon's Views on Having More Kids

Jon is game to tie the knot again as he was previously married to Kate for 10 years from 1999 to 2009. However, he nixed the idea of having more kids. He told PEOPLE, "We're both fixed, so it's not happening. I'm not getting a reversal. It was annoying enough to get it fixed so I'm not going to go down that road. I'm 47. She's 36. We just want to enjoy life." This decision reflects his current life stage and priorities.

Having Stephanie's Daughter at Home

Stephanie's 14-year-old daughter lives with the couple, so they are not empty nesters yet. Jon said, "It's really nice. I've never had one kid before, so I'm learning as well." It's a different experience for him, and he sees Collin and Hannah taking on the role of big brother and big sister, mentoring their new family member. This adds a new dimension to their lives.
