Initial Planning and Producer's Response

Madonna had dedicated four years to working on this biopic. However, upon her arrival in LA and engaging with producers and agents, she faced numerous challenges. They suggested lowering production masses and thinking less, which left her frustrated. She expressed her awareness that every aspect of her life would be a test, yet she remained determined.

Despite the setbacks, Madonna chose to take on the roles of director and scriptwriter. She believed that this was her job to think deeper and that her unique perspective was needed. She questioned whether her life story should be told in the form of a series or a film, showing her introspection and determination.

Overcoming Tour Obstacles

The biopic, titled Who's That Girl, was initially canceled due to Madonna's world tour in July 2023. But once the tour ended, she was resolute in realizing her plan. This determination was further supported by Universal Pictures, who had expressed their desire for the project. They paused the process until Madonna's schedule aligned with the development.

Madonna's decision to take control and continue with the biopic despite the obstacles demonstrated her tenacity and passion. She avoided the presence of a misogynist man who might have told her story, showing her strength and independence.
