McHenry Music Festival Reschedules Dates for Major Country Star
2025-05-06

A shift in the McHenry Music Festival's schedule aims to accommodate a top-tier performer. Originally known as RISE Up, this year’s festival will now take place from Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14 at Petersen Park. Mayor Wayne Jett announced that these revised dates open opportunities to feature an A-list country artist currently touring major festivals nationwide. The identity of the performer remains undisclosed until mid-July due to contractual obligations. Meanwhile, tickets purchased for the original Thursday date will automatically transfer to Sunday, while refunds are available until May 12.

The McHenry Music Festival has undergone changes not only in its scheduling but also in its lineup and objectives. Established by Mayor Jett and his wife Amber in 2019, the event was initially postponed to 2021 because of pandemic-related restrictions. Since then, it has evolved into a significant cultural and charitable initiative, raising over $1.2 million for local projects such as the splash pad at Fort McHenry, renovations at Miller Point Park, and the inclusive playground at Veteran’s Park.

This year’s festival is poised to be particularly special with the inclusion of a renowned country music star whose name cannot yet be revealed. According to Mayor Jett, this marks one of the most prominent acts ever featured on their stage. In addition to this mystery headliner, the festival website lists other popular artists like Sam Hunt, Zach Miller, and Slightly Stoopid. Tickets for the new Sunday date are available at a discounted rate of 20%, encouraging fans to secure their spots early.

Beyond the McHenry Music Festival, the region is set to host another big-name act just days later. Country superstar Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour 2025 will take place on September 19 at the Berning Family Farm in Prairie Grove. Fans looking forward to both events can anticipate a vibrant month filled with world-class performances.

With the rescheduling of the McHenry Music Festival, organizers aim to deliver an unforgettable experience featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry. This strategic move not only enhances the festival’s appeal but also reinforces its commitment to supporting community development through entertainment and philanthropy.
