During this time, Dr. Ed Arnold, the retired chair of the Department of Music and Fine Arts at Grove City College, played a significant role in encouraging him to pursue conducting.After graduating from Grove City College, Jopek went on to attend the University of Louisville, where he obtained two Master of Music degrees in wind and orchestral conducting. He also served as the music and artistic director of River Cities Concert Band, balancing admin work during the day with volunteer work at night.In 2019, during his time at the University of Louisville, he served as Assistant Conductor and Operations Manager for the University of Louisville Sinfonietta on their Costa Rica Tour. This experience solidified his decision to become a conductor.
