Port Canaveral's Thrilling Welcome

Captain John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral, expressed his excitement upon welcoming Celebrity Cruises. "We're truly delighted to have Celebrity Cruises join our Port Canaveral family. The addition of the Celebrity Equinox not only enhances our status as the world's second-busiest cruise port but also enriches the diverse range of cruise experiences we provide to our guests." A traditional maritime plaque exchange ceremony was held on board, attended by key figures such as Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner Fritz VanVolkenburg, Port Canaveral Director and CEO John Murray, Celebrity Equinox Captain Nikolaos Frantzis, and Celebrity Cruises Vice President of Sales The Americas Jennifer Suarez. This ceremony symbolized the start of a new era for Port Canaveral.

Enhancing the Caribbean Vacation Experience

Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, emphasized their commitment to elevating guests' vacation experiences. "At Celebrity, we are constantly striving to provide an exceptional journey from the very beginning to the end. The addition of Port Canaveral offers our guests the ultimate flexibility for their perfect Caribbean getaway. They can now enjoy a variety of 7-day Caribbean cruises, visiting popular destinations like The Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Mexico, San Juan, and St. Maarten."

Luxurious Amenities and Dining Options

As part of Celebrity Cruises' Solstice Series, the Equinox offers a plethora of luxurious amenities and world-class dining experiences. Guests can indulge in Italian cuisine at Tuscan Grille, where the flavors transport them to the heart of Italy. The interactive dining experience at Le Petit Chef adds an element of fun and excitement. Additionally, they can relax on the ship's half-acre lawn club, enjoying the sun and sea breeze. The Equinox was built by Meyer Werft in Germany and is the second of five Solstice-class vessels owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises. Its sister ships, including the Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Reflection, share the same commitment to excellence. Construction began in 2007, and the ship entered service in 2009, ready to provide unforgettable Caribbean adventures.
