Making Memories in the Makeup Trailer
In the season 6 episode "The Cold War" which originally aired in February 2004, David Frei had a brief yet memorable cameo. He appeared as a judge at a dog show where Kristin Davis' character, Charlotte York, entered her King Charles spaniel, Elizabeth Taylor. As he walked in the makeup trailer, a truly special moment occurred. He walked behind Sarah Jessica Parker and she looked up in the big mirror. Seeing him, she said, "Hey, I know you. You’re the dog guy." Frei couldn't believe it and thought to himself, "Okay, God, you can take me now. Sarah Jessica Parker says she knows who I am." This memory has stayed with him ever since. It was a simple yet significant interaction that added to the charm of the show.Another instance that stands out is when Frei and Kristin Davis reconnected several years later. She had just completed the 2006 Shaggy Dog movie and was at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Their floor reporter interviewed her and they were able to have a conversation. The reporter mentioned a rumor that they were an item during the show. Kristin played along and said, "Well, we weren't supposed to talk about that." Frei responded with, "All right, Kristin, it’s just great to see you again." These interactions show the genuine connections that can be formed through their work with the dogs.Experiencing the Best of His Job
Frei truly believes that he has the greatest job in the world. The various events and experiences related to the dogs, such as going to the White House and riding on a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, have made his job even more special. These are the moments that make his work truly unique. He is constantly surrounded by the love and joy that dogs bring, and it shows in his memories and stories. The National Dog Show Presented by Purina, which aired on NBC on Thanksgiving Day and crowned Vito the Pug best in show, is just one of the many highlights of his career. It is these types of experiences that make his job so fulfilling and memorable.
