2025-02-19

The nation's capital is set to become a vibrant hub of music and culture this summer as it prepares to host its first-ever WorldPride Festival. Scheduled for June 6-7, the event will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Capital Pride. The festival promises an impressive lineup of international artists across multiple stages, offering a diverse range of performances that cater to various musical tastes. Headlining acts include global superstars Jennifer Lopez and Troye Sivan, along with other notable performers such as Grimes, Paris Hilton, Rita Ora, RuPaul, Sofi Tukker, Marina, Tinashe, and Patrick Mason. Attendees can expect more than 60 performances over two days, making this a memorable celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

The WorldPride Festival will take place at the RFK Stadium grounds, which are currently undergoing renovations. This venue choice adds a unique dimension to the event, blending historical significance with modern festivities. Organizers have ensured that there will be three distinct stages, each dedicated to different genres, ensuring there's something for everyone. From house to pop, drag shows to techno beats, the festival aims to create an immersive experience that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community through music and performance art. The event is being presented by Dreamland, the team behind the successful WorldPride in New York City in 2019, in collaboration with Insomniac Events and Club Glow.

Preparations for the festival have been underway, with tickets already generating significant interest. Presale tickets have sold out, but those aged 18 and above can still join the waitlist online for general admission. The organizers emphasize the importance of creating an inclusive environment where all attendees feel welcome and celebrated. As one of the largest LGBTQ+ events globally, WorldPride in D.C. promises to be a landmark occasion that brings together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate unity and pride.

With its rich history and cultural significance, Washington D.C. provides the perfect backdrop for this momentous event. The festival not only showcases top-tier talent but also serves as a platform to promote acceptance and equality. Through an array of performances and activities, WorldPride will highlight the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community while fostering connections among participants. Visitors can look forward to an unforgettable weekend filled with music, dance, and celebration in the heart of the nation's capital.
