Erin Napier Recalls First Day with Husband Ben 20 Years Ago in College
2024-12-09
Erin Napier vividly recalls the precise moment when Ben Napier first set her heart racing two decades ago during their college days in Mississippi. This memory holds a special place in her life and is commemorated on Instagram on Sunday, December 8th, as they mark two decades of knowing each other.
Love at First Sight or Just a Coincidence?
In 2004, Erin was on some dates with a guy from the hospital pharmacy named Charlie. She was dating him as he somewhat resembled Ben Napier, the man she had a crush on. One day after work, she went to Charlie's house to watch Mystic River, but her phone kept buzzing with texts from Ben. He offered to check the brakes on her Volkswagen as he was a car guy and had noticed a strange sound. However, Erin wasn't really concerned about the brakes; she just wanted him to lean against her car and talk about himself.During the Jones County Junior College yearbook photoshoot, Ben stood in a lake with a puppy in his arms and a pipe in his mouth, trying to look academic and sophisticated. After the photoshoot, while editing the photos in the yearbook room, Ben came and sat beside Erin, who was soaking wet from the lake. Her heart filled as she noticed how straight his teeth were. There was a moment when it seemed like he was going to kiss her, but he stopped and grinned, saying she was going to let him kiss her. Erin denied it, of course, as she didn't think one could fall in love and kiss someone just 12 hours after meeting. After that, six days later, they decided to get married. The first two seasons of Home Town Takeover, which Erin and Ben co-host, are now available to stream on Max, with the third season set to come out in 2025. This story is a testament to the power of first impressions and the unexpected turns that life can take.
