2024-12-01
In a TikTok video from August 2024, Laleh Vahedian shared a remarkable story. She had been working at a coffee shop chain as a barista, which was making her miserable. But her then-boyfriend, Cole Eberson, a firefighter, encouraged her to quit and pursue her dream of photography full-time, offering to support them financially. Two years later, when they got engaged and found their small wedding expensive, Eberson sold his 2001 Jeep Wrangler to pay for it. Without his knowledge, Vahedian had been secretly raising money through TikTok to buy him his dream pickup truck.

A TikTok Secret That Transformed Their Lives

Section 1: The Struggle at the Coffee Shop

Vahedian vividly described her daily struggle at the coffee shop. "I was coming home every day and crying. It honestly sucked the life out of me." She had been working there for seven months, trying to balance her job with her pursuit of photography. Her boyfriend, Eberson, saw her unhappiness and offered his support. "He had a pretty stable job. He saw how much I was struggling and encouraged me to follow my dream," she added. This decision led to a significant change in her life. She was able to focus on her photography and started seeing success. "I credit my entire success to him. He believed in me," she said.

Section 2: The Wedding and the Jeep Sale

Two years ago, the couple got engaged. But their small wedding turned out to be expensive, and they couldn't afford it. Eberson, without hesitation, sold his beloved 2001 Jeep Wrangler that he had since he was 16 years old to cover the cost of their nuptials. "He's like, 'I've already made up my mind. I want to do this for us,'" Vahedian recalled. This act of sacrifice showed the depth of their love and commitment to each other. It was a turning point in their lives and set the stage for the next surprise.

Section 3: The Secret TikTok Fundraising

Vahedian started creating and posting TikTok videos to monetize them based on views. She was saving money to buy a new car for her husband as a way to repay him. "One day I decided to make a video about the fact that I have been making money on TikTok and trying to save for this lie that I've been telling. Within a day, it had about a million views," she said. With the money she raised, she was able to purchase a 2020 Toyota Tacoma for her husband. When she finally told him about it, he was in disbelief. "He asked if I was pulling a prank on him. I was sobbing and telling him, and he's like, 'Is this a joke?' And I'm like, 'No, it's not a joke!' We were there [at the dealership] by 2:00 p.m. because it was over an hour away, and we walked out of there with the keys in hand a couple hours later," she recalled.

Section 4: The New Chapter

Since acquiring his new pickup truck, Eberson has been driving it around with his firefighter buddies. He has also shown a new interest in social media, which he previously ignored. "He is now willing to be in TikToks with me. It's so funny to see the fact that he is just a very private person," Vahedian said. The couple's story is a testament to the power of social media and the love between them. "Social media is crazy. It can really make dreams happen. I'm just so grateful," she said. They have also been able to make a down payment on their house with the money from her photography business. Vahedian is happy where she is now and looking forward to the future.
