This led to the creation of an article titled “Who Is This Man And Why Are His Photos Showing Up On My Phone,” which set off a series of strange events. The Chinese internet took notice and affectionately named the man “Brother Orange.” Demands for a meeting led the author to travel halfway around the world on a wild adventure. There were 2007 Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan levels of paparazzi following them around as they rode in cars with their faces on it. Millions of people across China watched as the author took a mud bath with Brother Orange, a moment that was both unexpected and life-changing.
