Imagine a place called Hinckley Cold Storage. It holds within it a medley of extraordinary elements. Dynamite, that explosive force; pole vaulting, an acrobatic art; laughing gas, adding a touch of whimsy; choppers, symbolizing power; and hang gliding, representing freedom. These elements combine to create a scenario that is truly astonishing. However, in the first big score attempted by Dignan (Owen Wilson), none of his grand plans come to fruition. As soon as Bob (Robert Musgrave), whose house is being cleared by veteran thief Mr. Henry (James Caan), leaves his post, the whole operation begins to fall apart. Workers at the facility casually stroll in with their fast food, disrupting the carefully laid plans. It doesn't help that the job's master safe cracker, played by the talented early Wes Anderson repertory player Kumar Pallana, fails to crack the safes. Amidst all this chaos, there is a heart attack, some ridiculous yellow jumpsuits, a thrilling police chase set to The Stones' "2000 Man", and a phenomenally funny script crafted by Anderson and Wilson. The weather conditions were not favorable, making it difficult for the thieves to take off and fly. Their attempts were thwarted by strong winds and turbulence, leaving them stranded and unable to complete their mission.
