Warmth and Plans

Gellar, at 47 years old, shared with the world how her family marked the Thanksgiving holiday. They were in Australia as Freddie Prinze Jr., 48, was busy filming the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" reboot. The actress recalled their great plans, with Freddie working and the whole family set to have dinner together. It was going to be a special gathering with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the director.

However, as life often does, unexpected events took place. They were in a car with Gellar's 15-year-old daughter Charlotte and Rocky. Freddie was in another car. The rain, which is not uncommon in Australia, caused a bit of a commotion. It led them to be stuck in a tunnel for almost an hour.

Despite the initial excitement and plans, by the time they got out of the tunnel, it was quite late. Gellar found herself saying, "Ugh, guys, I can't even eat anymore." But they didn't let that dampen their spirits. Instead, they ordered pizza, and Gellar firmly believed that there's nothing wrong with pizza on Thanksgiving. It became a comforting choice in the midst of the unexpected situation.

Coffee and Beyond

Gellar also mentioned that the coffee in Australia is out of this world. She emphasized that it truly stands out and adds to the overall experience. It's one of the little things that make Australia special during their time there.

While Freddie Prinze Jr. will be returning as Ray Bronson in the new reboot set to release on July 18, 2025, Gellar revealed that she will not be reprising her role as Helen Shivers as her character met an end in the original 1997 film. But she still has an unofficial job on the set, which is to ensure continuity.

She joked with PEOPLE that she is always the one telling Jennifer Kaytin Robinson about what would happen or not with the characters. It's a unique role that keeps her involved in the project in a special way.
