Jenna Bush Hager's Dream Come True in Holiday Love Story

Jenna's Journey to the Set

Jenna headed to the vibrant city of Kansas City, Missouri, to film her role in "Holiday Touchdown." The story revolves around Alana (Hunter King), a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs super fan, who is competing with her family to win the team's Fan of the Year contest. As the competition intensifies, an unexpected connection forms between Alana and Derrick (Tyler Hynes), the head of fan engagement. This experience was a dream come true for Jenna. As she shared with TODAY.com in July, during the sweltering heat of filming at Arrowhead Stadium, "As a little kid, I always had this aspiration to be an actress. My mom would drive me to the Dallas Convention Center, and I would try out for musicals. But I realized I wasn't particularly talented in singing, dancing, or acting. So, this opportunity is truly special."

The Premiere and Streaming Details

"Holiday Touchdown" makes its grand premiere on November 30th as part of Hallmark's 2024 Countdown to Christmas lineup. Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers can catch the movie live through Peacock's Hallmark Channel. Additionally, Hallmark movie premieres are available for on-demand streaming on Peacock for three days after their initial air date, according to the Peacock website. (It's interesting to note that Peacock and TODAY are both owned by NBCUniversal.)

Inspiration Behind the Movie

"Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" isn't based on a specific real-life Chiefs love story making headlines. However, it playfully nods to the romance between Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Legendary NFL coach Andy Reid, who makes a cameo in the movie, even referenced this romance as he guided Jenna through her acting debut. He gave her a specific play, referring to Travis Kelce's jersey number and Taylor Swift's lucky number. Jenna humorously added a touch by suggesting to draw a heart around them and a friendship bracelet.Donna Kelce, the mother of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, also made a cameo in the film. Jenna and Donna shared a cute moment on set. Donna said, "You should write a note, and I'll put it in Travis' locker." Jenna quickly grabbed a pen and paper and wrote, "Travis — You have made my girls love football! Thanks for all you do! Come see Hoda + me!" She then added, "PS. Your mama is the coolest."
