StudioCanal, the in-house film and television studio of Canal+, has announced a leadership reshuffle within its German distribution division starting June 1st. Hooman Afshari and Lutz Rippe will transition from their roles as Co-Managing Directors to Co-Chief Executive Officers of StudioCanal Germany. They will report to Alex Hamilton, Chief International Officer of StudioCanal, succeeding Kalle Friz who is set to leave after 16 years of service in July. Both Afshari and Rippe have extensive experience within the company, contributing significantly to the growth and success of StudioCanal Germany's operations.

Afshari began his career at StudioCanal as Vice President of Theatrical Distribution in 2012. Over the years, he progressively assumed greater responsibilities, eventually becoming a key figure in all distribution activities by 2018. Similarly, Rippe’s journey started in 2006 when he became part of the marketing team. By 2011, he held the position of Vice President of Theatrical Marketing, playing a crucial role in driving the success of StudioCanal’s theatrical releases and home entertainment offerings. Their combined efforts have been integral to the company's achievements, making them well-suited to lead as Co-CEOs.
