2024-12-02
The late-night sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, is all set to close out 2024 with three final shows. These shows are highly anticipated as they feature some first-timers on the famed stage. On December 7, Paul Mescal will host for the first time, accompanied by musical guest Shaboozey, who will also make his SNL debut. This was previously announced on November 16. The following week, on December 14, Chris Rock will host for the fourth time, with Gracie Abrams set to make her debut as the musical guest. Finally, on December 21, SNL favorite Martin Short will host for the third time solo and the fifth time overall, and Hozier will make his second appearance as the musical guest.

Excitement Surrounding Debuts

After the announcement that both Mescal, 28, and Shaboozey, 29, would make their SNL debuts this weekend, country singer Shaboozey, whose hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has spent a remarkable 19 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, expressed his joy on Instagram with the words “MORE GOOD NEWS @NBCSNL.” Fans are intrigued by the show's decision to have Mescal's hosting debut followed by Abrams' debut as the musical guest, as the two have been romantically linked since June. They made their relationship more public last month at the L.A. premiere of Gladiator II, with the Irish actor bringing the 25-year-old singer as his date, marking their first official public outing together. After the date night, a source told PEOPLE that “Gracie and Paul are the real deal” and are “always in communication.” They are also planning a vacation together in the new year.Following the announcement of her SNL debut, Abrams excitedly shared the news on her Instagram, writing “AHH ”, along with the classic SNL corkboard schedule.Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, and these final shows are sure to be a treat for fans.
