“Sister Wives” Meri Brown: Little Interaction with Robyn Since Moving to Utah
2024-12-16
Meri Brown, at 53 years old, is now sharing an update on her current standing with her former sister wife Robyn Brown. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, she admits, "Robyn and I don't really talk a lot." She understands that it was hard for Robyn when she left and suspects that Robyn is trying to figure out her life differently. Meri adds that while their day-to-day life may not have changed much over the past few years, knowing that Robyn is now fully monogamous, she is likely navigating this new phase on her own. There isn't much interaction between them.

Building Relationships with Other Sister Wives

Although Meri wasn't as close to former sister wives Christine Brown and Janelle Brown, she has had some one-on-one moments with them during the currently airing 19th season. At Gwendlyn Brown's bridal shower, Meri and Christine shared an emotional moment. Christine reassured Meri that life would be "better on the other side" after her separation from Kody Brown. Meri also spoke about plans for the Brown family's Coyote Pass property with Janelle, who warned her to "protect" herself amid the ongoing sale drama. Meri notes that Christine was "really cool trying to cheer her on." She says, "I was in a place of, 'Thank you for being cool. Are we going to start building a relationship from here? Is this a point?' I thought that was really cool. I just wanted to tell her I love you. I loved our relationship that we had in the past. So, we were just in a place of cheering each other on and supporting each other. It was a good moment."

Chances of Rebuilding Relationships

Meri believes there is "always a chance" for rebuilding relationships. She says, "It really just depends on if both parties are involved. Right now, I don't think that Christine is at that place. I don't think that she wants to. I'm totally happy with where I am in my life as well, and I wish her all the best. Our paths just are not aligned. We're not living parallel lives right now. But they might cross. I never know." Regarding Janelle, she adds, "She and I have conversations on occasion. They're usually quick conversations, but it's a little bit here and there, so it's nice."

Frustrations with Robyn

During the Sunday, Dec. 15, episode of Sister Wives, Meri opened up about her ongoing frustrations with Robyn. She told the cameras, "With Robyn, I feel like I've put in a lot, and especially over COVID, it's like I was the one who was always calling. It wasn't being reciprocated." In the same episode, she spoke with friends Jenn and Brandi about Robyn's failed reciprocation, citing Robyn's absence from her mother Bonnie's funeral service in March 2021. Meri recalled, "The fact that Robyn didn't come to my mom's funeral and support me in that way at that time was very hurtful to me. They were following the COVID rules and you know, I felt really bad about that and I kind of understood, but Kody ended up going too. The whole thing was really confusing to me that she wouldn't go, 'cause Janelle went." However, from Robyn's perspective, she told the cameras, "Kody went because we couldn't both quarantine away from the kids for that long. I didn't have that option during this time. I was missing all kinds of things. Avalon's birth, my dad was super sick and in the hospital. I wish I could have [been there for Meri], I love Bonnie and I wanted to be supportive to Meri and I would have been there in a heartbeat if it hadn't been the situation that we were dealing with with COVID."
