2024-11-29
You may have come across the much-talked-about "Taylor and Travis" Hallmark movie. This film has sparked quite a buzz, with many claiming it to be inspired by Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's romantic connection. Even the stars of Holiday Touchdown themselves acknowledge that while their movie is romantic, it simply can't match the allure of the team's most famous lovebirds.

Uniting Chiefs and Romance in a Hallmark Tale

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's Inspirational Film

Hunter King, who portrays a Chiefs-obsessed small business owner named Avery in the film, emphasizes the uniqueness of the story. "You can't touch that story," she says. "It's too perfect. We're all rooting for them so much. It's almost like its own movie. We're watching it play out in real time."The film, which premieres on November 30, is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Chiefs and Hallmark Channel, both based in Kansas City. It tells the story of Avery, a Chiefs superfan whose love for the team spans generations. When her family decides to enter the team's "Fan of the Year" contest, they come under the evaluation of Derrick (Tyler Hynes), the team's director of fan engagement. And as expected, sparks fly between them.Although Hynes isn't actually playing Kelce, he took some inspiration from KillaTrav. Specifically, his singing of Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" at the Super Bowl victory parade earlier this year, which he got to attend. "He was up on stage and he sang that song and I loved every second of it," he says. "Throughout the whole movie, I played that song every day on the way to work and I still sing the lyrics."Kelce himself doesn't make an appearance in the film, but several other Chiefs players do. There's also a special cameo from Travis' mom (and 2024 Glamour Woman of the Year) Donna, who King and Hynes believe is a star in the making. King even suggests that she should be the star in the hopefully forthcoming Holiday Touchdown sequel. "We hope Donna is ready for that. We got to make some phone calls," she says.King and Hynes shared with Glamour how they became big Chiefs fans during the filming. They also talked about the challenges of shooting in a football stadium in beanies during the middle of summer, which they found wasn't very pleasant. Additionally, they discussed their vision for the sequel to their "Taylor and Travis" Hallmark movie.
