Kelly Ripa, the beloved host of "Live with Kelly and Mark," is making waves this holiday season with her unique Christmas tree. On Monday, December 9, she shared the hilarious story behind its installation alongside her co-host and husband Mark Consuelos. This year, they faced a challenge when one tree arrived too big for their house. It was a scene straight out of a comedy, with the entire tree becoming a giant, like a bloomin' onion. But they didn't let that dampen their holiday spirit.Treezempic and Pinejaro: The Tale of a Slimmer Tree
The tree, which Ripa affectionately calls "Treezempic" or "Pinejaro," is now a different sight. It's skinny, but she's proud of it. Ripa explains that it's been exercising every day to get in shape. Hanging ornaments on this tree was a different experience though. Even the lightest ornament struggled to find a place among the branches that seemed a bit flaccid. Most of the ornaments ended up inside the tree, but they've made it work.
At first, it took some getting used to having a smaller tree. But now, Ripa says, it's fully dressed. They even spent time by the fireplace over the weekend, with the flames roaring. It's a cozy holiday scene.
Compared to last year's tree, which covered the entire middle window and brushed the ceiling, this year's tree is noticeably smaller. But it still holds a special place in their hearts as they decorate it with their 33-year-old ornament collection.
Decorating the Construction Site: A Compromise
Outside their New York City home, which is currently under construction, Ripa and Consuelos have their own decorating challenges. She wanted a big snowman, but Mark wasn't on board. However, with the help of the construction site workers, they found a way to make it happen. The snowman has become a hotspot for neighborhood dogs, adding a touch of humor to their holiday decor.
Ripa shared how this little addition has brought some unexpected fun. "Cute, right? Festive. And look, see the little tiny package? That's where the dogs usually pee," she said. "It's become a part of our holiday story."
Despite the differences in their decorating preferences, Ripa and Consuelos have managed to create a warm and inviting holiday atmosphere. Their Christmas tree and the decorations outside their home are a testament to their love and togetherness during the festive season.
