Unraveling the Jonas Brothers' Journey Through Time

Reflecting on the Breakup

During an interview with PEOPLE about his recent partnership with Lowe's during the holiday season, Kevin Jonas opened up about the years that followed the band's breakup. He shared how a lot has changed in their dynamic as a group. Both Joe and Nick have ventured into solo music projects outside of the band. Joe, 35, announced his upcoming new album Music for People Who Believe in Love earlier this year. Although the full release date is yet to be determined, he has already dropped two singles, "Work It Out" and "What's It Gonna Be". Nick, 32, also teased "some new vibes" in a brief Instagram video on December 7. Kevin emphasizes that there are no rules within their family of musicians. "The thing about us, which I think is really fun, is there’s no rules," he says. "I don’t know, I don’t want to speak for Nick, but there’s definitely no rules in what we can do. Anyone and everything can do music and then we can do it together and we can do it separate."

The Reconciliation and Future Outlook

Kevin continues to share his thoughts on the band's current state. "I think that’s what’s so dynamic and cool about us," he says. "And there’s not like ego involved. I think there used to be, and I think that’s what broke up the band. But now we’ve come back, and it’s just like, whatever works for everyone." He has been co-hosting Claim to Fame with the youngest Jonas brother, Franklin, for the show's first three seasons and hopes to be back for another season. When it comes to his own solo music, he believes it has to be the right thing. "It just has to be the right thing. I’ve always talked about it, and talked about doing something, but it just hasn’t been the right time for me yet."As a band, they are gearing up to celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2025. Kevin hints that new music is on the horizon. "I can tell you that it is the 20-year anniversary of the band — which is making me feel two things one, very excited and also feel very old — but it’s encouraging because I know it’s been a long journey, but it’s really, I think for us, it would never just be a celebration of the past. It’ll always be looking towards the future."
